Sleep by Sleep Less [sxsw]: A Worker’s Perspective

I clocked an official 82 hours of labor and an estimated 16 hours of sleep during Austin’s busiest musical festival – here are some of the artists I worked with…

Califone [Chicago]

Hally [Japan]

Sean Lennon [New York]

In The Nursery [UK]

Royal Butchers [Austin]

Lights Out

Your sleep to work ratio was approaching the lethal index.

My SXSW experience was much more typical –
    1. Attempt entry to major show with no badge or wristband (in fact it’s so major that I’d rather not say the venue and artist)
    2. Fail at entry
    3. Settle for minor show nextdoor
    4. Find one decent band that turns out to be fairly well known, making me feel fairly ignorant

Major props for actually working the festival.
